Kasumi bites back a particularly snarky retort to Gaius’ rather obvious advancement. The mantra in her mind being that she doesn’t want to antagonize him. It was getting increasingly difficult to follow that as he hit on her. She forced a rather convincing smile before she replied.

“I imagine it’s always easier to walk away from your work when you have someone to go home to.” This was definitely coming from personal experience. Her tone confirmed nothing either.

She eyed the notes curiously, “Oh, that’s terrible. I hope they didn’t cover anything too critical to your research.” And with a shake of her head she confirms that she didn’t see the e-mail, “I hadn’t seen your message. I think I was still recovering from the shock of everything.” Naturally, the words passing her lips were rather convincing lies.
