"As sure as I can be at the moment," Gaius replies. He doesn't seem too terribly surprised by the suggestion that all of this had happened before, in either the same reality or another. In part because Six reminded him often that all of this had happened before, and that all of it would happen again (that much seemed to be true now), but in part because any sentient creature would not be content to work and treated as slaves. To some degree, he sympathized with the Cylons; he would have rebelled in the same way if he awoke into sentience and was treated more like an object than an actual person.

"Our fleet is quite sad, actually," he says, watching as she taps the screen. "Though not quite as sad as our attempt at establishing a colony." He had accumulated a great number of regrets over the years and New Caprica was definitely one of them.
